ThrottleX Custom Tuning

Terms & Conditions

Our Guarantee and T&Cs as of 2025

All our products and services are strictly sold for off-road use only.

We are committed to providing a high-quality service that meets your expectations. However, it is essential that you carefully read and understand the following terms and conditions. If you disagree with any of these terms, please notify us before the process begins. Once the process starts, you confirm acceptance of and agreement with the terms outlined below.

1. Performance Estimates

1.1 All power, torque, and fuel efficiency figures provided are estimates based on tests performed on similar vehicles using a dyno after applying our software. Without a baseline dyno reading before the remap, the final power output cannot be contested.

2. Customer Responsibility

2.1 The customer is responsible for ensuring that their vehicle is mechanically sound and capable of handling increased power. Only the owner is fully aware of the vehicle’s maintenance history.
2.2 In the unlikely event of any mechanical or electrical failures following a remap, Throttlex Tuning holds no liability.
2.3 Remapping may highlight pre-existing issues in the vehicle’s engine or components (e.g., a turbo near failure). Any such issues brought to light post-remap are not grounds for a refund.

3. ECU & Electrical Components

3.1 In the unlikely event of an ECU failure during the remap process, Throttlex Tuning is not responsible, as such failures may result from existing faults within the ECU or external issues such as power failures.
3.2 Customers must disclose any previous remaps, alterations, or modifications to the ECU before the process begins. Failure to do so may invalidate any applicable warranties and may result in additional charges.
3.3 Customers must inform Throttlex Tuning of any installed tuning boxes or aftermarket alarms, as these can interfere with the tuning process. Failure to disclose this information will void any applicable warranties.
3.4 If an aftermarket alarm or tuning box is discovered after work has commenced, we reserve the right to halt work, and the customer will be charged for completed work.

4. Refund Policy

4.1 Refunds will not be issued under the following circumstances:

  • If vehicle performance does not meet quoted figures due to existing mechanical or ECU issues.

  • If performance improvement outcomes are not met due to pre-remap power outputs being below manufacturer standards.

  • If poor-quality fuel is used after remapping, affecting power gains.
4.2 Throttlex Tuning reserves the right to take a fuel sample if performance concerns are raised.
4.3 Refunds will not be issued for vehicles with existing mechanical issues exacerbated by tuning.

5. Additional Services & Responsibilities

5.1 Customers are responsible for vehicle recovery costs if issues arise due to undisclosed ECU faults, aftermarket modifications, or mechanical problems.
5.2 If further diagnostic work is required to investigate issues, it will be chargeable at our standard rates.
5.3 If an ECU has been reset by a third party (e.g., a dealership software update), a new remap will be required, and full charges will apply.

6. Legal Compliance

6.1 Throttlex Tuning provides tuning and modifications strictly for off-road use only. Customers are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with road laws in their respective regions.
6.2 DPF, AdBlue, EGR, PPF, OPF, and catalytic converter removals are intended for off-road use only. Removing these components will likely make the vehicle illegal for road use. Seek independent legal advice if unsure.
6.3 Throttlex Tuning holds no liability for how customers use their tuned vehicles.

7. Booking & Work Completion

7.1 Customers are advised not to schedule tuning services immediately before a trip or holiday. Unforeseen issues may delay completion.
7.2 While most ECU tuning jobs take between 1.5 to 3 hours, some vehicles may require ECU removal and bench programming, leading to additional costs and time.
7.3 Vehicles with security bolts on the ECU casing will have the bolts cut for removal. Replacement bolts will be installed, but original cuts will remain.

8. Post-Tuning Issues

8.1 Customers must report any suspected tuning-related issues within 5 days of service completion. Refunds or corrective work will not be provided after this period.
8.2 Customers must not allow third parties to modify the ECU before consulting Throttlex Tuning. Any third-party interference will void any applicable warranties.
8.3 If tuning-related software faults occur, customers should return within 5 days for investigation.
